West Yorkshire Brass ~ Annual General Meeting

At 7.00pm. on Tuesday 15th January the band held its Annual General Meeting, prior to the evening’s rehearsal.

In brief:-
Band Secretary: Keith Shuttleworth, presented the minutes of the 2018 AGM which were approved as being a true record.

Treasurer: Betty Emberton, reported the band’s finances to be in good order, despite substantial spending throughout the previous twelve months. She also announced that she had negotiated with staff at Cleckheaton Golf Club and it had been agreed that the band will hold their Annual Band Dinner at the club on 29th March 2019. (Further details to follow at a later date).

Musical Director: Peter Hellawell, praised members of the band for their performances during the preceding twelve months, relating many good comments from a substantial number of members of our audiences at the numerous venues throughout the year. He thanked the members for their support and encouraged them to maintain the standard throughout the busy 2019 season ahead.

Members holding the band’s official posts of Musical Director, Secretary, Treasurer, Librarian and Website Manager were unanimously re-elected for the coming year. Peter Marsh, having moved away from the Bradford area, is no longer certain to be able to manage the role of ‘Band Sergeant’ on every required occasion.

WELL DONE WEST YORKSHIRE BRASS, KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK.

West Yorkshire Brass 2nd Euphonium and mother of two beautiful girls Rebecca Sharpe recently revealed she is also not just a pretty face.

Not everyone would have the fitness and courage to consider competing in a triathlon.

From a total of 50 competitors she was leading the race after both the swim and bike ride stages, but drifted back to 7th place overall after the final running stage.

Some acheivement since she had only taken up running a few months previously.

Congratulations Rebecca ~ KEEP IT UP!

If we can get you some faster trainers you can win next year!!!
