Almost Complete . . . . .

The Band is almost complete with 27 playing members ‘on the books’. However, we still need a further BBb Bass player to join us.

Following our concert at Hanging Heaton on 27th April 2019 (when the camera finally came out), our most recent members have now been photographed and have complete biographies on the website MEMBERS tab. Including one of the youngest members, Craig Russell on Bass Trombone.

Craig spent a few weeks deciding whether he wanted to join us or not. But since he has been at both opening concerts of the season, it is now a pleasure to welcome him into the West Yorkshire Brass family. Craig, long may you enjoy your time with West Yorkshire Brass.

And the rest of us just fill in the years between

On Sunday 28th April 2019 the newly appointed Band President, Duncan Brown, enjoyed a surprise 90th birthday party surrounded by his family, friends and a substantial number of band members. Congratulations Duncan. Nice Cake!!!

Our youngest band member, Ben Clapham, (welcome to the band, Ben!) is several decades behind Duncan.  And the rest of the band members just fill in the years between!

BRINGING THE ROOF DOWN IN CROWLE

West Yorkshire Brass has been asked to cancel an upcoming engagement on 25th May 2019 in St. Oswald’s Church, Crowle.

In the process of repairing the church clocktower, workmen have discovered rotting timbers in the roof structure of the church itself. This may have been the bands best opportunity to literally bring the roof down at one of their concerts.

No doubt more repair funds will be raised and the concert will go ahead at some future date.
