SOD’S LAW or MURPHY’S LAW (meaning anything that can go wrong, will go wrong)
is to be re-named GALPIN’S LAW.
Why so?
Because Steve Galpin (WYB 2nd Baritone) has been informed he needs a third operation in his fight to combat cancer, and his wife Jayne (WYB Eb Bass) is the only member of WY Brass to date to test positive for Covid 19. Though it is understood she does not need hospitalization.
WY Brass members and supporters send our very best wishes to both Steve and Jayne.
It is with very great sadness that the band announces the sudden accidental death of its solo horn player Peter Marsh.
Peter was an excellent musician who will be sadly missed by West Yorkshire Brass.
RIP Peter.
West Yorkshire Brass have finally got the hang of social distancing:- Musical Director in the bandstand at Crescent Gardens, Filey. Cornets in Scarborough, Horns, Baris and Euphs in Brid, Bones and Basses in Whitby. I think the percussionist is 40 miles away in York.
But then there are those who think the percussionist should always be 40 miles away!!!
